Electricity Went Out

At 5:45 am I heard the beeping of the backup battery on our computer. That sound could only mean one thing.....no electricity! My husband and I got up, found the flashlights, and lit some candles. The dogs were not so thrilled to go out in the rain, but we managed to get 2 of the 4 to go. The other 2 would rather let their bladders explode in order to stay out of the rain!



My son and I played a game of UNO and then Perfection (I am not good at this one!).

I set everything up in the kitchen so that I can cook the chicken and some blueberry bread right when the electricity went back on.

I took the opportunity to explain to my son that way back when, people didn't have electricity. And they didn't have lights and other electric devices. He would not be in favor of living back then! I LOVE it!! I love lighting the candles and reading by the light! Cooking on the other hand would have been impossible in this house. I do not have a fireplace, so I couldn't even heat up water.

I am going to attempt to get as much done as possible before I lose power again.

I will blog when I can.
