Being A Better Wife

I have been praying and asking God for help in the wife department. I consider myself a good wife. I keep the house clean, my son schooled, dinner on the table, pack his lunch for work, and I am there for him when he needs me. I know however that there are some things I could back off of, to be a better wife. Here is my short list!

1. stop nagging him about his socks not making it into the hamper. (is it really worth fighting over socks?!)
2. don't complain when he watches a 3 hour football game when he has something to fix in the house. (he works hard all week, he deserves some time do something he enjoys)
3. don't complain that he is late and didn't call and now dinner is getting cold (he works really hard at work and focuses on work and comes home every night like a good loving husband. A half hour is no big deal!)
4. don't complain that an hour before he has to be somewhere (instead of the night before) he asks you to iron a shirt. (Really, it's my fault that I didn't have the shirt ironed and ready when he needed it in the first place!)

So, I have been working on my nagging and complaining (ie:to not nag and complain) over the last 2 weeks, and my husband gave me a huge compliment last night! He thanked me for being a good wife! He has never done that. He always says I'm a good mom, good cook, good housekeeper, good teacher to our son, but never a good wife. It just boosted my moral last night when I heard it!

Lesson learned: The less I nag and complain....the better wife I will be! (It only took me 10 years to figure that out! LOL!!)

Its a blessing that your able to identify what you need to change in your marriage. Doesn't feel good when your husband pays a sincere compliment. It's a warm feeling no one can take away. God bless.
